Sometimes photography is to observe from close up and sometimes from afar. It is a representation of reality and abstraction at the same time, an image of the world that has already passed. My aim is to trace the specific mood of a situation or place and capture it — for eternity.

The images on this site have been captured on different journeys over the last couple of years. After the exploration of urbanity and street photography in »Raumstoff« and »Landing Hong Kong«, »Territories« shifts the focus to the intersection of artificial scenery and landscape photography.

Daniel Bretzmann studied Communication Design at the Merz Akademie in Stuttgart and completed the master program European Media at the University of Portsmouth. He worked as an Art Director for Jung von Matt/Neckar and Strichpunkt Design in the field of interactive media, art direction and graphic design. In 2010 he founded his own studio and crafted projects with small & big clients, famous brands and leading design agencies. He has joined a Bosch startup in 2015 to develop the smart home experience of the future. Daniel has received numerous international awards and his work has been featured in various design related books, magazines and online publications.
